Hello, it has been a month since I wrote 'Extension 1 Guidence' (http://community.boredofstudies.org/13/mathematics-extension-1/151026/extension-1-guidance.html)

I have not asked to be accelerated yet as I have been writing down all the notes and excersises for year 9 and 10 maths and physics. I am currently at woolgoolga High School near Coffs Harbour. Judd Tilyard had advanced in maths in 1994 at Woolgoolga High.

I was talking to a teacher today about advancedment, he claimed quote "we dont do stuff like that anymore due to juggling times tables around."

Did anyone here find this when they accelerated, what do you think i should do? Should i take this English teachers word for it? Or should i continue to do the work and try to persuade the school?

hey mate,
I did have the same problem as well.
My school is a public high school, and the teachers really can't be stuffed to put in that much effort in juggling the timetable to "help" students.
But after some nagging and convincing, they finally helped me accelerate in 3 unit math, after i did some IQ tests and Yr 10 yearlies exams.
My best suggestion would be to go and ask the career advisor and school counsellour or head teachers. Get your parents to visit the school and put some pressure on them. They'll eventually do it if you've buggered them enough.

I live in Nambucca Heads, 60km south of Woolgoolga...

We never call it its full name lol...

The nickname 'woopi' is what we normally use lol...
