Sooo. How many of you out there are doing this fantastic course?

I took it because I came second in music last year, they expected me to do ext, but I'm a terrible performer.

But I think I've discovered what I want to do for the rest of my life - I just love this researching and writing about music business.

My hypothesis is about the music of Gabriel Faure, with emphasis on his Requiem.

I've often wondered how many people actually take this topic within music ext.

So. Make yourselves known!

I'm doing music extension: musicology.

My focus is "What defines Latin Music: A comparison"

I love researching about music, and i love the analysis of music, so I plan to become either a music historian, an ethnomusicologist, or just plain musicologist, lol.

Also, I haven't done my recording yet for Music 2....I have written it....i just have to get my flautist together lol....she's doing well but it has taken a while lol

So what exactly are your theses?

I've just finished my half-yearlies and still havn't decided on mine yet. I know it will be in relation to the Burgundian school, Medieval/Renaissance transitional music, Old Hall Manuscript, all that sort of stuff. I have done LOADS of research, abstracting, annotating, research essays, etc. but i'm finding it hard to chose my thesis.

halp!??

I'm doing this course and I'm panicking already!

I'm quite new to the music course, having only picked it up in yr 10, and the only thing that drives me is passion. At the moment I'm doing research into Shostakovich and Soviet music, but I don't know where to go from there. I just don't know what the BoS wants. I picture everyone else doing musicology extension as these musicology genius' who will all write amazing theses that completely baffle everyone.

Am I slightly delusional or is it true? Do you think exploring the impact of socialist realism on composers like Shostakovich is enough? Or do you think it's been done before/will be too mundane?

Sorry for all these questions, I'm just really unsure about where to go with this!
