dude, an external gpu would be so awesome. i'm sure though about the connection to the computer though. will there be enough bandwidth with data shuffling back and forth? and what about any cooling issues?

You're probably better off just getting a better laptop...considering the fastest link into a computer is USB2 at ~400Mbit/s compared to PCIe's 2Gbit/s. Not to mention that the PCIe's speed includes transmission and error checking overhead whereas USB speed is a theorhetical maximum.

Just not worth it...

hmm seems pretty pointless to me, so gamers would have to heave that thing around?.. And yeah it would be better to just to get a better laptop.

if it really were good, it would be widely distributed already. seeing how notebook specs improve every year and the avg notebook user uses the notebook for 2-5 years, simply not worth it to keep buying newer-and newer GPU units instead of overhauling the entire notebook
