Dad: It's just a number...but it's a bloody good number!!!!!!
My Mum nearly passed out from the relief down the phone I think...and my sister seemed to already know I was gonna get that high :)

And now I'm sick after a 3 day celebratory bender...go figure.

My parents were thrilled. I was a bit disappointed. And then I realised I beat my brother by more than 10 points.

99.3, family was thrilled because they were aware I started studying 2 days before the first exam and I got the UNSW AAA award which gives me 5 extra points. So lol to effort.

My folks understand it means nothing to me, but wanted me to beat my goal of 80, which I did, so they were happy.

They didn't say much, if i'm happy with it, they're happy with it.

what do u mean by 2 unit MX1 N MX2. isnt MX1 N MX2 only worth 1 unit?
x1 and x2 counts as 2 units each if you do 4 units. ie. 2U doesn't count

clear difference and obvious sign of how you managed to lose your last uai points.

So lets hear them. My story,

*after spending 20 mins struggling with the UAC site, it SUDDENLY got in and surprised me with an UAI*

UAI: 98.50

Dad: Maybe your school's ranking pulled it down?

Me: ...
Exactly the same as me! UAI and everything!

I called my dad up at work and he was like: 'not bad...good.' Then later, when he came home from work, he had totally analysed my results and came to the conclusion that my Chem exam mark "pulled me down". LOL
My parents seem happy though.

*me after accessing UAC*: ...84.95

my bro: you nearly doubled mine

(i then used my extraordinary equal-first-at-my-school-in-general-maths powers to inform him that i hadnt)

My bro: well, <my sister> got 80....so that puts you second in the family.

(my other brother got over 99)

my mum was very happy, and proceeded to text everyone she knew, and so over the course of the day i got 10 congratulatory calls from godparents, family friends and the like.

my dad was also happy, cos it would get me into uni.

and there was no talk of "imagine if you'd put in an effort all year"

ohh god, this has to be the worst. I totally feel your pain.

haha, dad saw my marks and was like "wow you can get a good 75 with that!"

...yeah someone forgot about scaling...

65 wasnt so bad, but it's just that look of disappointment that gets you every time.

To the people who's parents complain about spending shit loads of money to put their kids through private school because they got really shit UAI's. Wtf. Just because they spend excessive amounts of money on them SHOULDNT obligate them more than anyone else to do better. It's the parents choice if they do that, and the kids then can try or not. I think it's stupid blaming the kids for messing up and wasting their money, when they could have just as easily sent them to a pubbo school.
It's so stupid.

P: blah blah blah we wasted $100, 000 on you!
K: Sorry you CHOSE to do that
if you don't want your rentz spending $$$ on you, you tell them: hey, dont spend $$$ on me. you complainin dat dey CARE bout ur education??

fukn bitchtard ho. wish my rentz would do dat for me. and ur complainin.

bet ur da kinda bitchtard that shows up on Sweet 16, and complains about gettin 75K car coz it wasnt rite colour.

u wanna complain, go to those group therapy things. retards anonymous. you'd fit ritee in.

Don't some parents EXPECT you to go to the school they pick? My cousins all went to private schools and half got awesome UAIs but their parents wanted more. :/

My UAI: 41.90 (not great at all, I cried)
My mum's reaction: You stupid idiot you failed, what the hell is wrong with you, you bitch.
My reaction: Thanks... *Tears begin to flow*
Boyfriend: It's ok sweetie, you'll find other ways of getting to uni, I'm proud of you for trying.
Boyfriend's mum: I'm here if you need to talk about anything, I feel bad for you but well done for having a go.

I really hate my mum...
That's nuts. lol, your mum sounds like my mum.

Just ignore her and do your own thing. If you want to go to uni you still can go and do stuff for a semester/year then apply again and you should get through, or go to TAFE.

And there are SOOO many smart kids here!
