Why is research into synthetic biopolymers attracting great interest?

a)decompose easily

b)produced more cheaply

c)superior physical properties

d)superior chemical properties

as compated to traditional synthetic polymers

4Which of the following makes cellulose a potential raw material for the petrochemical indisutry

a)available in many parts of the world

b)light in weight and easy to transport

c)organic polymer based on carbon

d)polymer thatt undergoes combustion

For Q1, I'm relatively sure it's A, cos biopolymers are all about biodegradability. Then again, being biodegradable is about the only thing I know about biopolymers >.>;

As for Q2, I'm taking a guess at C, since it's cos cellulose is made up carbon that is can be broken down into stuff like ethylene and ethanol. But, eh, could be wrong x.x;

Q1) Why is research into synthetic biopolymers attracting great interest?

a) Decompose easily - This is the only plausible explanation

b) Produced more cheaply - PHB costs 5 to 7 times more to produce than synthetic polymers.

c) Superior physical properties - If it decomposes too easily it wouldn't have superior physical properties.

d)superior chemical properties - Same as above.

Q2) For which of the following makes cellulose a potential raw material for the petrochemical indisutry ?

a) Available in many parts of the world - Kind of true but so is petrol almost, well, it was then.

b) Light in weight and easy to transport - ?

c) Organic polymer based on carbon - It's organic that's why it holds great potential.

d) Polymer that undergoes combustion - ?
