No, faith; die by attorney. The poor world is almost six thousand years old, and in all this time there was not any man died in his own person, videlicet, in a love-cause. Troilus had his brains dashed out with a Grecian club, yet he did what he could to die before, and he is one of the patterns of love. Leander, he would have lived many a fair year though Hero had turned nun if it had not been for a hot midsummer night, for, good youth, he went but forth to wash him in the Hellespont and, being taken with the cramp, was drowned; and the foolish chroniclers of that age found it was Hero of Sestos. But these are all lies. Men have died from time to time, and worms have eaten them, but not for love. - Rosalind from As You Like It.

Only thing I really appreciate by Shakespeare:

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress when she walks treads on the ground.
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

Mocking FTW :)

Unhappy that I am, I cannot heave
My heart into my mouth. I love your Majesty
According to my bond; no more nor less.

We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.

Especially when Alan Rickman is reading it!

As far as plays go, Hamlet is definately my favourite.

The Taming of the Shrew is my fave..

"I pray you do. I'll attend her here -
And woo her with some spirit when she comes!
Say that she rail, why then i'll tell her plain
She sings as sweet as a nightingale.
Say that she frown, i'll says he looks as clear
As morning roses newly washed with dew.
Say she be mute and will not speak a word,
Then i'll be commend her volubility
And say she uttereth piercing eloquence.
If she do bid me pack, i'll give her thanks
As though she bid me stay by her a week.
If she deny to wed, i'll crave the day
When i shall ask the banns, and when be married."
