prelim: 8.5 energy
hsc: 9.5 industrial chemistry

i dont know why,
i just liked activation energy and graphs for 8.5
but for 9.5, i understood most of it ... so i like it :)

For me my favourite was shipwrecks & salvage and also the electrochemistry part of the Production of Materials module (electrochem is good :D), and I also didn't mind acids & bases.

My least favourite was carbon/organic chemistry, and Chemical Monitoring & Management (esp. the tests for identifying cations & anions).

I would choose Mod. 2 ... only cause it was relatively easier for me :)

we're doing saponification right now too, and i like. Actually, i like all of industrial chemistry. im finding it to be the easiest of all the modules so far.

i hate that biopolymers stuff..with all the PHB crap...grrrrr

i dunno why but none of them stood out, all of the topics involve a certain amount of cramming about assess/evaluate impact on society/ history etc... the first section of chem monitoring is the worst... 4 dot points about what chemists do????

I agree.
i liked the uses of the radioisotopes. it felt useful to learn and know! all the other crap is stuff that you don't see / don't care about.

acid and bases. no bull shit, just stuff like "thats an acid. that is not". pretty simple and easily memorised.

I liked naming stuff, l odn't know what they are called. You name them and then u draw them. I found that fun. I mean stuff like ethene or ethane. That stuff was easy and made me think!
