At first i was like What the!? but it grew on me...

too bad she did debut at like #160 on the billboard... :'(
hope she concentrates on her jap music now

anyway i think j-pop is still HEAPS good! love it!
do u guys just listen to the beat and melody to see if u like it or not??
i always wonder if lyrics mean nothing basically?

One thing trained musicians quickly learn about pop in general is that the melody is repetitive and the beat is standard march, rarely anything else - ever. The whole point of the music is to be catchy and nothing else, because people buy catchy. None of this stuff will last once you all die.

devil inside is #2 actually, she never made it to the top. http://www.billboard.com/bb/charts/airplay/dance.jsp

but hey #2 is really good for an asian artist in any billboard chart. Only if she did well in the normal billboards rather than the dance/club charts.

just out of curiousity who here likes jpop but isnt japanese? i'm not jap but i still like the music.

I prefer I-pop (Indian Pop).
the only indian band i've heard of is 'Bombay Viking', which was lyk a collaboration betw. some swedish & indian ppl, hence the name...

i've also listened to stuff from Panjabi MC and Bhangra Knights, altho they're technically from the UK

Actually the only I-Pop I've seen is on SBS every few months (and Channel 31). It was funny.

I was more going for Eye-Pop.

Guys, if anyone wants to buy me Japanese CDs for my 19th next month feel free... :D

HAHAHA FAKE YUNA!

It's so funny how half of Korean pop culture involves swiping Japanese pop culture and replacing the characters with hanggul. :p

Note: if you're offended by this obviously ironic statement, then you're not clever or observant enough to laugh about it.

i havn't really heard much of utada's, but i dont really think she'd be famous in a short time, it'll take some time.

but she needs to put her old beats in to it again, i mean,. thats what made utada what she is now !
