people get this idea that when any band becomes commercially successful they have sold out. maybe they sold lots of records because their music was damned good. nothing wrong with making good music, and there is nothing wrong with changing your sound because it means you are broadening your musical horizons, not selling out. anyways, the world's greatest include:

opeth
cryptopsy
soilwork
fear factory
metallica
dillinger escape plan
the flaming lips
beastie boys
interpol
the libertines
velvet revolver
guns 'n roses
cypress hill

my only guilty sin is the killers

i didn't know your a judge who measures someones 'coolness' by their own personal taste in music....i'm very sorry i dissapointed you but i seem to enjoy 'still waiting' 'fat lip' and 'hell song'

I wouldn't say so at all. There are a lot of good mainstream bands, and a lot of terrible alternative ones.
well i actually LIKE the bands/people listed by the thread-starter, which was in sarcasm. but because they are top 40 & well known, are apparently deemed "bad taste" in music.

are you kidding? about fifty other people named "people" or "musician" rather than a band. Now pick on others and leave me alone
