Black Hawk Down is alright... but seeing Somalis running across the street and getting shot isn't as fun as watching Nazis getting blown to bits by a mortar round.

The leg-artery scene in BHD was cool though.

u sound like a war movie buff, have you read the book for BHD? pretty good read.

You must have watched Band of Brothers if you loved saving private ryan.

War movie buff? Nah. I'm more of a strategic-combat-analytical-buff.
I haven't read BHD, but I have read SPR, many times. Band of Brothers was enjoyable too.

Someone post their movie list.

I haven't read SPR, i feel that it's going to be a letdown because the book is based on the movie and not the other way around.

BoB was the main inspiration for SPR. the actual storyline for spr was based on a true story of a guy loosing 3 of his brothers during the war.

Theres a book by Stephen Ambrose (BoB) called D-Day, it's pretty thick, it recounts the whole day of D-Day from all the divisions/countries that participated. I think there are 20-30 viewpoints from about as much as 500 personal recounts. YOu might like it

Funny that, the book has more events and more depth than the film... Miller in the book likes to swear, alot, and the confrontation at Ramelle has more events.

there was heaps of swearing during WW2.

Say BoB for example, some of the shit they remembered saying about captain sobel was too raw for the mini-series.

I'm not a big fan of books spawning from movies.
