Sheehan: what about 100% fruit juice? I love orange juice and don't know if I could last 10 days without it. I do want to try this though. No lollies or coke sounds bad enough but if it's also no OJ I doubt I'll be able to do it.

What about Beer ;)

Water is a hydrant. It is pretty useless, chemically (when it isn't replenishing water already in the body), so it pretty much goes in, then out... HOWEVER, it also takes other things with it - basically it flushes bad stuff out.

O.J. on the other hand, is a bit different. One of the the primary features of O.J. is vitamin C, which is an anti-oxidant. Basically, it attaches itself to the harmful free oxygen radicals in your body, neutralises them, and then gets flushed out. Of course, since it is introducing more chemicals and undergoing a chemical reaction along it's journey through the body, perhaps it would be less "pure" than water. Also, there's the question of whether or not it would hydrate you sufficiently - just because it is a liquid doesn't mean it contains water.

I wouldn't recommend a 100% fruit-juice diet for your liquid needs. It's very expensive, and you'd be going to the toilet a hell of a lot.

I think I'll have mainly water and 1 or 2 glasses of OJ a day. That's close enough for me.

Well, it'd would be better for you than some rubbish like coke.

Nothing wrong with good old water, though.

Just a warning for those planning to down V or other during your exams, the exam supervisors keep an eye on what drinks you bring into the room. They expect a clear bottle and water only - I was forced to leave my iced tea in the bag. Iced tea! Like... come on, not a brain stimulant or anything!

So drink the stuff before you go in. ;)
