Im under the impression that most Commerce students apply for vacation work and grad recruitment programs for acccounting (Big 4) or accounting/finance (banks and investment banks). Since Accounting, Actuarial and Finance Co-op students will have a distinct advantage over ordinary Commerce students, or even combined degree students (except for comm/law which may be on par with co-op on some areas), will there be any opportunity for ordinary Commerce students to get into these top firms?

And even if you don't get in straight away... you could crawl your way up. :p

Yes.

Ordinary commerce students can get an advantage by going for vacation work in the summer before their final year
