A FINN thread, and I wasn't PERSONALLY INVITED?!?!?!

I adore them. As josie knows, I went to the "Everyone Is Here" tour concert in Brisbane for my 17th bday... *sighs lovingly* they were fabulous!! It was just THE most incredible night of my life. We had pretty good seats, and security said we weren't supposed to get out of them, but after hinting for a while, about half way through Neil says "If you wanna get up and dance, do it!" So we did. We ran up the front... we were standing at the barrier, and some 3 or 4 m away on the stage was Neil Finn. Just standing there, singing and playing... arrrggh. We yelling out things to him, and he looked over and smiled at me. Several times he'd look after and I'd like blow kisses or something and he'd smile this huge smile at me. (Eye contact and everything...) It was such a fabulous night!!!

Now, Im a fan of SE, CH, and the Finn Bros, as well as their individual stuff. On "EIS" my favourite songs are "Anything Can Happen" and "Part Of You, Part Of Me", but I love them all. They started the concert in darkness as we watched some of their own old home videos, and slipped silently onto the stage. Then they started rocking out "Anything Can Happen" and it was on! They didn't stop for 2 hours.

Anything Can Happen
Won't Give In
Six Months in a Leaky Boat
There Goes God
Edible Flowers
Nothing Wrong With You
Suffer Never
Luckiest Man Alive
Disembodied Voices
Part of Me, Part of You
Distant Sun
It's Only Natural
Four Seasons In One Day
Encore 1 (they left and came back on stage)
I Got You
How Will You Go
Weather With You
Encore 2 (they left and came back on stage)
I See Red
Better Be Home Soon

High lights included:
*Neil and Tim telling a cricket fan that New Zealand could well make a comeback tomorrow - it was really quite funny. They had no chance, and lost in spectacular fashion.
*The Sing-a-long to Four Seasons in One Day - oh so good! Everyone just singing together without any music (a cappella)
*Neil inviting the audience to dance for Distant Sun - the floor just came alive at that point! It was like saying to security 'nah nah, we're not staying in our seats - Neil said we don't have to!'
*Watching Tim go nuts with the tambourine in 'Won't Give In' - at 52, he's still got it! He was TERRIFIC!
*They had the lights turned off for the start of 'Disembodied Voices', after explaining that they used to talk after their parents turned out the lights at night - oh, the atmosphere!
*Singing along to Weather With You
*Clapping madly at the end of 'I See Red' - Tim dancing and carrying on... awesome
*The finale - Better Be Home Soon, another a cappella sing-a-long *shivers*
*The 'dance' that Neil and Tim did after taking the final bow - The entire band got together and took a few bows before breaking into a little Irish jig of sorts..!

Who likes them, HSC?
In an understatement, I do. :D

p.s. photo taken from TT17 Brisbane Entertainment and Convention Center Monday 29th November, 2004, by me. (And thats why its fairly dodgy..! :))

Did everyone listen to Triple J from 5-6pm tonight? A quaint tribute... some archives of Paul on Triple J programs over the last 20 years, and a 45 minute CH concert taped in Melbourne in 1991... Gah! it was great!!

(p.s. what do you mean repping me "again"? No-one's repped me for this thread?!)... I'm sensing a little bit of tension here josie... C'mon now, dont make me get all competitive on your ass! :D It rules to be in YR 12... nothing better to do that buy CH boxsets of Woodface and Together Alone *sigh* ;P
