To answer OP's question, quizzes were done in the lecture when I did it first semester 2013

When I did it was in lectures and you had to go the lecture you were enrolled in. So if you were enrolled in say 9-11 lecture, you have to sit your quiz then even if say the 12-2 one is more convenient for you.
