There are a lot of advertisements in the paper for weekend first aid courses, so you should check out your local paper. I got mine with the Royal Life Saving Society, which was a weekend course for $85.

is st johns ambulance the best known company for a first aid course? they're the most flexible with places to do it and also the most expensive.
their site is had to navigate, this is the second time i have had trouble finding their booking page

There are alot of first aid courses on offer, not just the St Johns Ambulance one. If you have plenty of time it might be worth doing the St Johns Ambulance one but if you're after a certificate for employment purposes you can do a half day one.

nah, thanks but i can only do st johns, red cross or medilife. i think i'll go with st johns for convenience and also it's the most well known (assuming it is the most well known)

Don't forget Royal Life Saving. I did mine through them, and they're pretty good.
