Not exactly having my first day of Year 12, but I'll add my input anyway.

Expectations: OMG WE'RE THE BIG GUNS NOW AT OUR SCHOOL.

Reality: We don't feel like we're the 'real' year 12's ='( and we won't until the current year 12's actually finish.

Slow, drawn out process of transitioning.

Teachers spending all day telling us that we need to start being more sensible and studious. My previous interpretation of the words 'prepare for year twelve' involved lopping 15 centimeters off my waist-length hair to look more serious and not a whole let else, so I guess it was a kind of useful reminder.

heyyyy
how was everyone's first day of yr 12???
Felt the same as year 11 lol
But I have nice stationery to keep me motivated
Also felt really good because I had my last physics lessons and almost leapt with joy when I received the subject drop forms :D

How about you?

It was quite chill, tbh. Some teachers began teaching the HSC course, while others gave back the prelim exams. :D We haven't gotten our timetables, though :(

Pretty relaxed first day of term, bar the introductory assembly of "you-better-get-your-asses-in-gear" and prelim exam result handouts.
Got our assessment timetable for Term 4 and I have to say having a Modern History exam that actually matters in the grand scheme of things only 20 days away is a bit scary. :0

My experience.

First week of year 12: I'm going to do >4 hrs study every day and >6 hrs on weekends!! So motivated!!
Second week of year 12: 2 hrs a day, hmm should be alright
Third week: 1 hr a day, meh, I'll do it later

Month before HSC: youtubing

It was four years ago for me (dont get me started), but I can remember it being exactly like this.
