I find it odd that I'll have to catch a train 1 hour into the city only to catch a bus coming back out the exact same way.

It pretty much is, it's only like 15 minutes down the road from my house. I would of been laughing more if it was the camp at Blue Gum which I originally thought it could of been, which is all of 30 second from my house.

No but when you live around the area and there's a camp with a sign out the front saying owned by UTS, it really doesn't take a genius to figure it out.

Well the camp site isn't owned by UTS, but as he said, if you live around there you'll know. I knew where it was when I went for the first time too :p

I don't know why it's a secret as such anyway? lol on the law camp site it says "The location is kept secret to maintain the security and integrity of the camp".

Not much else to bring really. I'm almost ready I hope.

My friends bringing cards and some music, myself I'm bringing a bunch of lollies and biscuits and other crap maybe (I may cut down though depending on room in my bag, and considering they'll selling stuff there..).

Someone bring fun board games :p Dunno how you're gonna fit it but yeah XD They should have like a casino night ;D Fake money of course.

I wonder if anyone will bring a laptop lol. And I wonder if they have tv there ;D Hehe, although defeating the purpose of camping with minimal technology, it'd be cool if someone could bring a PS2 and some games like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 etc. ;D

And is anyone going to even swim/go in the water? Doesn't seem clean and/or safe :p

CompSoc usually only sell Mars Bars and soft drinks, so if you want to bring along anything else (if it fits) then thats fine. Other than that, you'll get food at Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Afternoon and Morning tea.

You might be suprised about the casino night with fake money. You'll see :p.

No there aren't any TVs there and laptops are brought at your own risk.

You can swim in the pool. It is clean. You are not allowed to swim in the river (and you wouldn't want to anyways) :p.

Remember to eat Lunch before you go, because the first meal will be Afternoon Tea.

Lol, anyway, I'll probably just bring a pack of cards, no point in bringing big board games.

I'll be the gronk who wont be on the bus tomorrow :(
I don't have a laptop :p My friend who's going to ANU was saying he'll bet someone will bring one hehe. I'm thinking someone will too..though I really don't see the need.

Seems like everyone is bringing cards though.

My friend was supposed to catch a train there because of no space left on the buses ;D But then he managed to scab a spot somehow.

There will be 1 deck of cards in each cabin, though feel free to bring your own.

Ah good.

Aww, a couple of nights without tv. Hehe, I'll survive..nothing that good on anyway.

Lol, okay. I was thinking (because the note suggested canoeing), that the river played a part. Good thing it doesn't I guess.

And either i'll have one last home cooked dinner before I go, or I'll grab something in the city. ;D

Quite looking forward to this. Oh, and I'm rather confused about where it says "dormitory-style, in separate male and female cabins". Does this mean each person gets like a room or what?

The camp is not IN the Blue Mountains. It is at the foot hills of the Blue Mountains. As you are probably aware, the suburbs at the foothills are usually the hottest in Sydney (ie. Penrith, though the camp is not there :p), so don't expect it to be cold. In fact, expect it to be hot!

Oh sorry, what I meant was, you can't swin in the river, but you can walk down there if you want. The canoeing is done in the river, but your in the canoe, not in the river :p, unless you fall out, which in that case you'll have a life jacket on. The river isn't that dirty, though the swimming pool is better to swim in, so just use that. So in other words, the river does play a part, but only if you choose to.

2 nights without TV yes. There is always a thing called a VCR, DVD recorder, TV tuner card, etc that you can use to record.

The cabins sleep between 6-18 people. Basically, there are bunk beds (single in some) and you basically share a big room with other students. 9 of the 12 cabins are between 14-18 students while the other 3 are 6 students.

Ok, nice.

I wasn't aware such technology existed :p Hehe.

Oh, so about 180 people or so going. The note says 6-16 people though :p Doesn't make a difference but.

Oh and uhh, will you get dirty there? Like mud splashing and stuff? Or is it relatively clean unless you fall over :p Just wondering whether I should wear a pair of a bit older shoes or my newer ones (which are much more comfortable that's why).

159 students to be exact. The cabins hold 6-19 students, though the max there is in a cabin is 17, so allow for any problems.

You will probably get dirty :p. The campsite is in the bush. That means you will be walking on grass and dirt and there will be trees and wildlife (non-dangerous) around you, so depends I guess. Wear some older shoes I guess, especially if your new ones are white :p. I guess you won't get dirty unless you fall over, but they might get dirty even with just walking and stuff.
