flame test for lead ion (1 Viewer)

hmm, does anyone know the colour of the flame test of lead ion?
I did some research on google and it says blue but my chem tutor (a Dr.) says it is colourless :rolleyes:
Does any1 know the exact colour for it?

This is the test for cations I suppose? How can you test 2 ions at once?

Anyway, the correct is Pb- Blue, Fe3+ - NOT DEFINITIVE

we just learnt that it was dull blue.. teacher said we shouldnt do flame test on it though because its poisonous!

i dun think we do flame test on lead, like teacher told us that we don't but dun know y.

i dun think its color would be tested111

i did the test in a fume cupboard and it showed up to be a grey to light blue colour, but more grey.

Just one point, only ever do this in fume cupboard cos lead in the air is not a good thing....
