If you are footnoting the same page, eg:

1 Locke, J. (1690), Minds, Bodies and Persons Reader, pg. 84
2 Cushing, S. (2002)
3 Baker, L. (2000)
4 Shannon, C. (19??)
5 Locke, J. (1690), Minds, Bodies and Persons Reader, pg. 84
6 Cushing (2002)

How can you make it look like:
1,5 Locke, J. (1690), Minds, Bodies and Persons Reader, pg. 84
2,6 Cushing, S. (2002)
3 Baker, L. (2000)
4 Shannon, C. (19??)

??

why can't you just use the same footnote number in the body of your text when you are referencing it

Or you could just manually enter a superscript number, instead of inserting a new footnote. CTRL + should do the trick (CTRL = will subscript).

Endnoting is another referencing convention, where each reference has its own unique identifying number which you use throughout the paper. It's pretty good, but a hassle when you have lots of references. It is also definitely NOT a replacement for the bibliography. Nor can you merge the two.
