in a match, one team player fouls an opponent. lets say Kimmy pushed Johnny a bit too hard. Just as the ref was about to blow his whistle, Johnny retaliated back, pushing Kimmy again. A brawl erupts.

Now, the question is, as the referee, who should get foulled, or yellow carded, or red carded?
is it the agressor first, the person who retaliated, or both?

what would happen if there wasnt a big brawl? just two 'forceful' pushes and that was the end of it?

I'm not a soccer referee myself, but for your first question, I would say they both get at least a foul or more likely both get yellow cards, depending on the nature of the brawl.

Since you said that the referee was about to blow the whistle, I would assume that he saw kimmy push Johnny, and would at least penalise kimmy with a foul and possibly johnny.

if thier was no brawl just forceful pushs then the original player that was pushed should get a free kick but no yellow card

Don't know why u posted this again but as i said before:

Seeing as though i am an official junior soccer refferee i'd thought i'd answer this (i better not be wrong)

The question isnt that specific, so i'm assuming Johnny and Kimmy threw punches.

Johnny's team would be awarded the free kick as Kimmy committed the first foul.

And any player that threw punches would be awarded a red card.

If you made the question a little more specific i could be of more help.
But for now, i hope that helps

mmmm i'll make it a bit more specific...i'll do two scenarios

1st scenario: both kimmy and johnny are running for the ball, and they are nudging against each other. kimmy however, pushes johnny away a bit too forcefully, therefore getting to the ball first. but, lets say johnny, when he was pushed away, tugged at kimmy's shirt.

2nd scenario: same as first one, but instead, johnny fell to the ground. he got up, then started to push johnny away as well. a brawl erupts between them, and more and more players comes in to support their teammate in this brawl.

scenario 1: Depending on how hard the push was, Kimmy will recieve a yellow card. Johnny may also be shown a yellow card- up to the referee's disgression- if i was ref: he would be because retaliation is not allowed. Then Johhny's team is awarded the free kick because Kimmy's team performed the first foul.

Hope that made sense

Will comeback to scenario 2 later

I would agree with that too, the first person that fouls will almost always at least get a penalty, and it's spelt discretion. :)

The world's most beautifully classic team game has always been 'called' football.

Kimmy would never be allowed to push Johnny too hard in the first place... just the fact that she/he pushed him/her, pulled their shirt, it's a non- foot tackle to get the ball in football. So for the brawl, both should be yellow- card for fighting. It doesn't matter who started it. Sometimes referees overreact and send both players off (with a red card), or sometimes they underreact... like, just giving a free kick. It depends on the referee... and consequently from their decisions supporters retaliate, in various forms... so if the brawl was really big, it might continue after the game, with officials etc. getting involved. And then players would get suspended, and disciplinary committees would 'decide'. It's a big question.
