And to our sage poster who thinks people don't understand the correlation between weight loss and diet and exercise, thanks for the reminder. But didn't you notice this thread said for size 14+ girls? What made you come in to it considering you are a male who must be somewhat slim considering your opinion. Maybe you are the one with an insecurity problem if you felt the need to post in this thread to assert your patriarchal notions that exemplify the objectification of women through body perceptions being dictated by the male gaze. And you wonder why "even skinny chicks think they are fat"... maybe it is because they constantly hear males expressing their deluded notions that the only chicks that are worth something are the skinny-like-in-playboy ones.
completely agree with you!!

i hate the way things are made so differently here...it gives me the shits!

also, another peeve of mine is that dress makers/designers don't make clothes for curvy chicks...some people may love their curves, but i certainly find it hard to buy clothes sometimes.

i also have the problem of buying bras...i'm now reaching a 12 E, and about 95% of bras that are bigger than a C cup are bloody ugly...does anyone know where to buy "nice" looking bras? not just plain black or white ones? i don't understand why they cant just make nice looking bras for larger sizes...

and buying pants can sometimes be a bitch, i'm glad i don't have the problem or being short, otherwise i would look COMPLETELY out of proportion...but my waist is alot smaller than my hips...its horrible!!

also...does anyone know of any dress makers...in sydney...that are good...cauz i want to get my formal dress made...but i don't know of anyone...?

p.s...for all the shallow guys that want to comment about my post...dont try and tell me to loose weight...cauz i aint exactly fat...just curvy
wow you're built like jessica rabbit...

me jealous.

who cares if you dont wear a 'pretty' bra when you have 12E breasts, a skinny waist and curvy hips?

makes my little 10B/Cs look like grapes...*cries*

yep it might be hard to lose weight, but u feel better about your self and are healthier. if u have good determination its much easier, people make to many excuses thats why they are fat.

anyway what girl feels good about being a plus size anyway?. even skinny chicks think they are fat, so fat chicks must think they are hippos. sure they can find a guy that likes bigger girls, but wouldnt u want to find a guy u really want and not just a guy u can get. i am speaking the truth here so dont give hate,.

youre an idiot mate i have a boyfriend who i knows loves me for who i am and i could not have asked for anyone better. and before you say anything he isnt some fat loser or anything... he is hot and im not just saying it i promise. and i am happy with my size. i didnt ask for dieting tips i asked for shopping advice which you are obviously not going to give. i eat really well and i do as much excersize as i can so i guess im just meant to be like this, which i am happy about.

anyway moving right along.... yeah austrlias sizing is absolutely screwed. the average size for females is 14 yet shops and manufacturers seem to think we are still a 10-12 like we were 50 YEARS AGO! im sorry it just drives me nuts. no woder we have a problem with body issue diseases in australia.

your completely correct, maybe designers should do some actual work and realise that they are wrong!!

only a few select people fit the clothes in the shops, well!!

All these places have to do is stock more clothes in larger sizes. It's such a simple concept yet no one seems to GET it. If I had a penny for every time something was completely sold out in my size, I'd be a rich bitch.

i hate how there is no standard sizing system in australia. i can be anywhere from a size 12 to an 18 so gay... i find jeans west are awesome as well as JAG and country road. Even sportsgirl have gone off the rails lately... whenever i go in there all thats left are 8s and 10s.. SUpre is a joke, their clothes go to an xxxs which is what? like a size 6? and there are ALWAYS a billion left on the hanger and no L's or XL's.. so what im really saying is that i agree with the girls before... there needs to be a larger range of sizes available...

i have 2 places that are awesome... your thingy says youre from the lower north shore so if youre willing to travel, there is a place in cabramatta called Hong Kong Bridal House... i know it says bridal house but they do formal wear too...even though i dont speak a word of vietnamese and they didnt speak much english we were able to communicate really easily what i was after. I had my measurements taken, i bought the fabric, had 1 fitting and it was done. And not expensive either!

they people that run Hong Kong Bridal are also in North Parramatta on Church St in a place called Moon Bridal. The reason cabra is better is that there are so many wonderful fabric shops there, you can do it all at once...

have a try at somewhere like polo raulph lauren- they have classic cut stuff thats usually a bit more roomy while still looking really really awesome.
dont try supre or any of those small, dodgy everything-here-$10 stores because they're usually just made for 12 year old girls who are a size 8 and usually look el-cheapo neway.

i know places like polo or armani or von troska are pretty expensive but the good thing about them is that their clothes are elegant and never go out of style- you can end up spending $150 on a jumper and think "shyte thats a lot" but you'll still be wearing that jumper in 10 years time with no qualms because they're good quality and timeless.

yeah you really appreciate well made clothes when its hard to find things well made in your size. i completely agree with the person before who said all shop have to do is stock more larger sizes. how hard is it??? and if they are worried about not selling them they shouldnt be because just going by this thread it would be very worthwhile for them

i went shopping yesterday and finally tried on a long flowy skirt thinking it would look shite but...... its awesome seriously it fits so good and looks really cool. i got mine in plain black too so its slimming and goes with EVERYTHING! even though i got it from valleygirl, its the tempt brand so its not so "fad" if you get what i mean. As you can guess im very happy about it.

long flowy skirts are awesome, and the good thing about it is...they are fairly slimming! They are also realli comfortable. I've found that long skirts atm are realli nice in any store, i found an awesome one in kmart the other day...yea i know some people frown on kmart...but they actually have some alright stuff in there atm!

I have clothes from kmart & target. Nothing wrong with that unless you're anal about brands. They have some ok stuff.

my issue with pants is that i have a pretty small waist, like 30-32'' but huuuuuge hips so pants tend to fall down cos i have to get them a size or two too big to get them over my hips

i'm wearing size 12 jeans :) la la la la. is it shallow to be happy that i seem to have become a 12 in most brands with no effort? cos i got criticised for being so happy about it and how i should be happy about my curves and i am, but i'm not a tall girl and really should be a 10.
