Hi BoSer's,

I have a question. So school is beginning in less than a week and I have only read a little bit of Frankenstein and (unfortunately) watched Blade Runner.

What are some related texts? And does anyone know how many we need to have for Module A?

I am leaning towards some good films and poems and possibly visuals.

What have you guys done?

I read the OP and thought I was having visual issues at first and then realised it read what it did. You don't need anything else apart from the texts studied in class for Module A.

Wait a second! Are you guys serious! So lemme get this straight:

- AOS -- related text (2 for me) possibly three
- MODULE A -- none?
- MODULE B -- none?
-MODULE C -- none?

Can someone lay it out in this format and tell me if we need related texts and how much if so!

dude

you just need related texts for belonging - area of study and module c - which would either be confliciting perspectives or history & memory

should be like 2 related texts for each

Didn't you do year 11? It would have been the same then.

You only need 2 related texts in the AOS and then 2 for Module C.

you dont need any...

module a is a direct link between the 2... hence why it is comparative study of texts

do u know what other texts you are doing?

Dude, did you even read what I posted above? What's the point in asking for help and not reading the replies?

OK, so I will lay it out for you.
- Area of Study - 2 relateds (you won't need more)
- Module A - 0. That's 'none'
- Module B - 0
- Module C - 2
+1
Although wouldn't you need additional related material (such as critics) for Module B?

Thanks so much once again LOL, and sorry for the inconvenience. I kinda had mixed emotions, I was really excited, confused, lost and then all happy again.

PS: Thanks for laying it out my way :p

Yea its alright man. I was just shocked, thats all.

So basically, all we technnically have to do is just read the texts, know them inside out and integrate our responses in the HSC?

Amaaazzzzzinngg..........

It's not necessary. I did have one in my Speeches essay, however, I don't believe it's necessary for the syllabus (2009-2012). The focus now is on your reading of the text(s).

No problem. Sorry for getting pissy. :p

In theory, yeah, it's that simple.

In practice, it's a little more complicated. Remember your Module A is Texts in Time, it means you have to talk about despite disparate contexts, similar themes have transcended time and are apparent in both texts. So yeah, the relationship between texts and contexts is quite necessary. :)
