heh the movie had legolas depicted as completely different to the book.
In the book he constantly argued with the dwarf (gimmli? i forget his name)
The movie had the action, but the character development was just not there. Hopefully they'll change this in Two Towers.

hmmmmm well I haven't read any of the LOTR books.... but I plan to read them after I've finished watching the movies...

In the book Legolas and Gimili become close friends, so that why they are friendly towards each other. I don't think they had enough time to show all the tension between the two though...
Hell I'm bored. I feel like wrecking the movies for everyone....cos they should read the books first....
In "Return of the King"(the third part) Frodo gets to mount doom with gollum and sam. The ring corrupts frodo (even though he is so pure of heart) and he can't throw it in to the larva pit, and he puts it on, becomes invisible and runs away from sam. sam is obviously very saddened at this cos they've come so far for nothing. then gollum appears from hiding wanting the ring, he attacks the invisible frodo and bits his hand off. Frodo re appears, gollum is so happy that he has the ring, that he dances around and falls into the fiery pit and therefore destroying the ring...
so there you go
