Has anyone read this book? I'm thinking of buying it..

For those who don't know what it is about, it's the novel written by the person who Memoirs of a Geisha was based on. She was pretty peeved that Golden incorporated ideas of things such as virginity bidding into the novel, and led Iwasaki to being looked down upon by society because she was, according to wikipedia, Japan's number 1 Geiko (geisha) until her sudden retirement at 29. As a result, she wrote this novel to give a more accurate portrayal of what happened?

I find it funny that she looks a bit like Michelle Yeoh (Mameha, the wise geisha!)

Yes, I read my mum's copy of it two years ago.

Although Memoirs of a Geisha was more exciting, I preferred Geisha of Gion because it was a true story.

I saw this in a bookshop but was too cheap to fork out. I'm gonna look for it in the library. I didn't like "Memoirs of a Geisha" (the book) and I think it would be interesting to read.
