Agreed. This film sucked. Dawn of the Dead (2004) was way better. I haven't seen the old one.

This one wasn't even plausible, and went nowhere fast. And the other one had heavy metal songs performed in other styles. Way cool.
Yeh, I agree.

Dawn of the Dead [2004] was great, and the music made it greater. The film had cool stylistic features and rarely resorted to the 'look away while people are killed because I can't be bothered to figure it out', whereas Land did- constantly.

The army needed a few more .50 cals to pump 725 rounds per minute into the zombies.

It seemed that the army was too well armed and organised to be helpless against the very slow creatures, and I think the fact that the utopian society becomes too confident from within was shown too much.

I think that the island idea was far too explicit par Utopia, The Beach et al, and made me wonder about their concept of money. The whole society functioning with the pre-existing hierachy with money, power, and influence frankly shat me off, and Hopper's character Kaufman annoyed me with his appartment. How would he 'pay' soldiers when there's no such things as banks or even 'legal tender'? Are they supposed to burn the money for warmth or something?

That being said, I loved it when the zombies ran into the building and ate all the rich people, although the Marxist ideas were very overt at this point, and with the 'don't shoot [the zombie], he just wants somewhere to live- like us...", I was all-too fed up of the film.
