our lecturer said there would be no scaling at all, so does that mean if you get 80 raw, you will get a D? Because the Labs seem fairly easy, and he said the average was around 70-80% ?

yeah the averages for the first two labs were pretty high...i think around 75-80%
all i know is that only maths scales and im not too sure about geos1701
maybe not worry about it now
just concentrate on doing the best you can

A lof of the course don't scale anyway. BIOS1201 doesn't scale. Don't expect too much scaling, if any, from BABS or BEES.

Yeh, I know, they were pretty high. As long as my raw marks dont go down.

Survivor, do many courses get scaled down? (i.e. raw mark of 80 goes to final mark of below 80?)

No. The report writing is actually proving to be a lot easier then I anticipated though. It's going to be hard to keep it under 1500 words max.

It is highly unlikely they will scale you down. You will most likely end up with your raw mark in BEES/BABS, that is, your final mark should be your raw mark over the entire course. Although they did scaled up 1 or 2 marks in Advanced Genetics/Genetics, which really didn't make much a difference anyway since the assessments were dodgey..

hey guys,

My memory of the mid session exam was the multiple choice was fairly straighforward, short answers were ok and like if you refer to examples and diagrams that's useful and there was one longer response. Generally, it wasn't too bad the exam.

When i studied for it, i went through the lecture notes and made sure to understand the key concepts and terms and referred a little bit to the textbook.

Anyways, good luck with it :)

David said before the break to hand it to the BEES office before the exam, seeing how we don't have labs this week.
