As for the legal journal - isn't that encouraging research? I really just want to do coursework.

Haha. Well a lot of people get sick of coursework when they hit 4th/5th year - so they look for research intensive/practical units. Research is the lifeblood of any decent university...and there's something to be said for having one's name published in an the contents of an academic journal before graduation.

I think I should do it for morphology.

We briefly did phonetics and phonology in ling110 last year, and it was quite interesting, but also quite broad. But if you want to focus on morphology, you should probably do ling211.
