hi there
my friend wants to do political science, doesnt necesarily matter which uni, just a generic idea would help. He did his hsc in 2005 but didnt do a sufficient amount of units, and thus doesn't have a UAI. how would he go about getting into uni for something like this? what are his options?

The quickest way to go about it is to sit the STAT (UAC website for more info), and assuming they get a halfway decent mark apply for the unis that allow you entry with only a STAT mark. I know UWS and ACU do, also a few others too.
The longer way is to go and do a Tertiary prepartation program at TAFE or through one of the uni's that offer it (UNSW). It takes a year but gives them more choices uni wise.

They could also do the extra HSC units they need to obtain a UAI through TAFE.
