Oh my. I'd have to say it's unique and I'm quite fond of the styling  shaven door handles and 10" mags. wtf, there's a bar holding the roof up.... amazing!

i'm gonna throw in a new suggestion, get a manual 3rd gen magna. sure they have the grandpa image, but you'd be supprised at how good they are. they use considerably less then falcons and commodores, and the manual is quicker then equivilent ones. if i had as much money as you did i'd get a manual TH (99+) model with the 3.5L V6 in it. put some nice wheels on it, replace the muffler, maybe lower it a little (they are a little high) and use the extra money to subsidise the slightly higher amount of fuel.

trust me i've had a 96 1.6L pulsar which was alright, but it just was a bit to light for my liking. i now have a 97 3.0L manual magna and compared to it, it absolutely flies. 0-100 in just under 8 seconds stock, and thats the 3.0L. they are grossly underpreciated so you can get an awesome one cheap. driven with a mild amount of throttle you'll get 12L/100km. check out www.aussiemagna.com.

trust me, once you fill the car with people and a few cases in the boot you'll want the extra displacement. you'll only use 2-3 bucks more per hundred kms, and as long as your not commuting huge distances that pales in comparison to how much you'll spend on other aspects of the car.

VR-X magnas are sex on wheels.....

RE magnas though there is a slight design flaw in the transaxle which basically leads to the clutches wearing abit quicker than you would otherwise expect.

Though that said magnas are still pretty decent cars. However magna v 206GTi and I know which I would choose.....

PS: It's French...

those little peugeots are bloody solid as. i knew from the very start when i opened the door, everything was so well made. the feel was not as i quite expected, more 'heavy' than the usual hatch (i drive an echo and a discovery, so i know both sides of the story). but the pocket rocket engine 2.0L, 101kW sure puts out a fight (and a scare for my mum in the back seat :p)

a definate option :)

fucken kinda annoying, wen the threader asks a specific questions about new, low petrol consuming, low kms cars and the replies are just full of old ass, 100000+ km, thrashed modded superboxes like skylines, gtirs, premium fuel cars, diesel cars, old holdens/falcons, silvias, old twin turbo swift gtis, imported japanese turbos...

SMall cars and low consumption and low kms are very important these days for long distant travels and reselling ur car. Cars older than 10 years are usually also fucked up.

But with 14 grand, i'll get a Barina SRI with about 50000km, they are gud quality built vehicles and hit 100kmh in 9 secs. for 20 grand, which is a bit dearer, i would get a used corrlla sportivo with about 40000 km, they are beasts.

14 grand would probably also get a used GETZ FX, fiesta
