Gimp (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone, i need a bit of help on GIMP.

I downloaded it today, and installed it but i dont know how to run it. lol..is there like mirrors or crack's or anything that i also need for it to be able to run?

also, i really want dreamweaver and photoshop...do u think if i downloaded kazza i could get it for free off there?

If you are using Windows, you can find a Windows Installer for the GIMP here:

http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

It's a free program, doesn't need registering or anything.

You should just install it , run it , it will load and the windows for the program will appear. It's pretty straightforward, unless it didn't install correctly.

You should also try the GIMP Documentation section:

yea, thats where i got it from...it installed alright but it just doesnt run.

I'm downloading it again now. maybe something happened be4 with it...

If i still have troubles ill be back..lol

Hm, make sure you uninstall it fully before reinstalling it. Should start up fine - check if the gimp.exe process is starting but the program is not - or whether it's just not starting at all.

ok, so i just fully re-installed it again and the same thing is happening. it install's fine. a folder is created named 2.0- then 4 folders inside this folder and the uninstaller. that is all...is this normal? if it is, how do i run the program now?

Did you install both the GIMP and the Runtime Environment?

the name of the file i downloaded is called gtk+-2.4.10...that setup file is called GTK + 2 runtime environment...thats all ive installed.

oh..i think ive solved the problem..lol..i had to download 2 file's didnt i? omg, i feel so dumb..lol

Ah.. haha

You need to download 'The Gimp for Windows (version 2.0.5)' as well as the runtime environment. One is the program- one is the environment needed to run.

Get those and you'll be right
