does anybody who goes to a single sex school find it hard to find friends of the opposite sex? i was having this discussion with my friend and we noticed that about half of our friends at school havent really met any guys or snything since then. we thought maybe its because there wasnt really much contact. and you know how there is like a brother and sister school, well the brother school is in another suburb so yeah it sort of makes it tough. i dunno. interesting though.

You can always meet them through your other friends from school (unless all your other friends don't have any friends of the opposite sex.. hah).

I had a friend who had a whole heap of friends - both sexes - who went to independent private schools. They always went out together as a combined "private school" posse, they were pretty much inseperable. On the flipside, I went to a co-ed school, and some of my friends didnt have any guy friends, despite being surrounded by them daily (... perhaps that was the reason! :p)

So, really, its up to the person to go and find those of the opposite sex. If they are shy, or cant be bothered, or scared, of course they arent going to have any opposite sex friends!

Going to an all boys school must be pretty crap I reckon.

I think I would be saying "don't bend over" over and over in my head constantly whilst in the changerooms.

those single sex school students, they hang around the train stations/ bus stations, on their way to school and on the way home from school, thats lyk, an easy way to meet the opposite sex i guess.

i went to an all girls catholic school. they tried to do a couple of discos with the boys school (about 20mins drive away from my school), the first 2 years were ok (i only went to the first one, boring) but the third year they cancelled caus there weren't enough boys going (they needed 15 or so).

i didnt have any male "friends" (and most werent even really that) until at least year 11.

on a side note; girls from my school were meant to be lesbians, yet we got things like "st marys, sluts of the sea" from other schools...don't ask me how that works

You need to be more social and maybe join some community groups or something. Maybe a sporting club or dancing club. Maybe you and the half of your friends who never talk to guys should go out to a few clubs and bars and socialise.

I completely agree with this. To meet new guys you need to go different places where they can be - dancing clubs, etc. There is a good opportunity to meet in a sport club.

Get a reality check here. If his person goes out so infrequently that she has practically no guy friends, don't you think she's probably a little too introvert and shy? So yes, let's fix the situation by getting her to suddenly go clubbing and searching in sports clubs, most probably filled with ego-infested, superficial guys looking for outgoing, 'looking-for-fun' girls... not.

You've gotta learn to walk before you can run.

ogm the troll's right!

if you want to find guy mates (or mates in general), get into it at your own pace.
IF you're interested in certain sports, then join clubs in your area - joining one just to find guy mates is useless, you'll just be bored the whole time and you probably wont get any guys. this goes for any 'social' activity.

if you're at uni, getting involved in clubs and activities is a good way to meet people. do something YOU enjoy (or at least think you may enjoy), don't just do it to meet guys, caus as i said before you'll get bored as hell so much quicker and find trying to make friends so much harder.

People acted like total tools when there were females there for events, totally changed and acted... incredibly differently. This annoyed me to no end
Yeah so true, I remember when our school was on an excursion and we stopped by some chix school, some guys completely change.... they put on the biggest charade and its like wtf, we dont even live near these people your not gonna pick up

Only someone who is insecure about their sexuality would say/think about something like that :uhhuh:

I attend an all boys school and i dont have a female friend. Ive talked to some girls that i dont know when i caught a train, but the conversations seem to be too short that i dont end up getting their contact details. Maybe ill be patient and wait till uni and there about 7 months left of school for me anyway.
