yeah, google must have spent their money hiring all the DHTML experts in the world

this is all from google aquireing "keyhole". Google make the best aquistions.
picsa is also an awesome application.

In the states you can zoom pretty close......

It'll be a while till an Austrlian version comes out because of our low population density and our lack of population(compared to other countries).

we have something similar to that at work ... its fun..they have a layer as a still image and you can zoom right in.. i found someone swimming ") and if you don't want to view that you can always turn it off

Yes, I don't think the average joe would be given access to real time positions of anywhere in the world that the map system covered. It would be a privacy/security risk. Plus then, there'd be no need for spy sattellites if Intelligence Agencies could just use google maps :p

i think this system should provide terrorists' ever terrifying forces the info they need to cause chaos.. (limited to america only)

Well the download for the program is 200mb or something. And then you have to download maps piece by piece and if you're on a slow connection that it'll take a while.
