not ICQ.Deus said:Indeed just beacuse its from google dosent mean its better.....
And yeh you'll usually have one dominate IM in a country......
Its AIM in America
ICQ in much of Asia.
MSN in Australia, much of europe etc....

I hope microsoft dosent feel intimidated by google..
And well on Google talk, i myself will probally not use it. Google is probally a bit too late into the IM market. The 3 key players already dominate the market with millions of users between them. To establish their userbase (so there is alctually soebody to talk too) google must give a good reason for people to switch. And imo this dosent do that (true it is a beta.)

what are you on about, i never said anything about google having themMurf said:can u show me a product such as communications server that google has?
can you show me a corporate messaging tool that google has?
can u show me a product, that any body makes that is better then the features offered by exchange mail server?
can you show me a product that can do live meetings and integrate seemlessly with all microsoft office applications as you give a presentation to 100,000 people accross the world?
and id still contest there are many more people with hotmail accounts than gmail accounts, and with microsoft offering 250 mb's of space after google's mutli gb's peoples apathetic nature will stop them from changing.
dont get me wrong, competition is great, but i think google still has a long way, if they are trying to encroach on any of microsoft's 'soil'

Give Google 10 years like Microsoft has and it'll come awfully close.Murf said:can u show me a product such as communications server that google has?

Very true too. And plus, in the short time that GMail came out, there are most likely more people with gmail accounts than Skype so it's more 'convenient' to just use Google Talk.fatmuscle said:that's because i have no friends who use skype~!
u use what your friends use.
For people of our age, perhaps!RCMasterAA said:Very true too. And plus, in the short time that GMail came out, there are most likely more people with gmail accounts than Skype so it's more 'convenient' to just use Google Talk.
