the Governor General was in Wollongong today. And i saw him but there was so much security, they shut down one of our main streets, cop cars everywhere, i would say 50-100 police in the area.

Who thinks that security these days is going to far? Even when John Howard came to Wollongong there wasnt that much of a police presence. It makes me think that there may have been a threat

Who thinks that a large police precence is justified? assuming ofcourse that no threats were made Has anyone heard anything on this? like we were locked in the library ffs It seems that slowly our freedom is being taken away

or maybe iam being over dramatic

discuss the issues of freedom is relation to over-the-top security with a focus on high profile appearances, and the effect of people who call in hoax terrorist threats

Ah, Serius, the Governor General would have been there for a Remembrance Day ceremony (being the 11th of the 11th and all). Road closures in major population centres are to expected on Remembrance Day.

why? there wasnt marching or anything going on... and this was at 2pm

they locked me in the library :( because of security reasons. to be honnest it wasnt just me, but still no reason to crowd control to the max by locking us in buildings

yeah i know its Rememberance day, but there wasnt anything going on in these streets, most people were at work, school or driving home from shopping. i dont much care about the actual road closures, what iam worried about is the large police influence [ and iam fair sure this was for security as they were all standing around at key points - definetely not for paying respects cause of rememberance day] and it wasnt there when John Howard came

but when john howard came, terrorist act hadnt been rushed through yet hmm interesting
