Graphing For n00bs (1 Viewer)

i have this graph y = x/((x^(1/2)) +2) I divided it by the highest power of x and i get this (open the attachment). How can i simplify this so i can find the asymtotes?

x/(sqrtx+2)
x(sqrtx-2)/(x-4)
take 4(sqrtx-2)/(x-4) then add it:
(sqrtx - 2)(x-4)/(x-4) + 4(sqrtx-2)/(x-4)
(sqrtx - 2) + 4(sqrtx-2)/(x-4)

So sqrtx-2 is an asymptote.

Was just doing it with an extra step, since your second last line of manipulatino was ambiguous... or I thought it would be to somebody who wasn't aware of what you were trying to do in the first place.

Ok, no worries. That's how I do all my polynomial divisions anyway, saves a lot more time and space.
