For each half equation in a redox reaction, do the number of electrons need to be the same?

This is for Yr 11 metals.

it depends on ur school, theoretically u dont need to make the numbers all same, but sometimes they do take ur marks off:bomb:

Well, I guess, if you're planning to put the half equations together to get the overall reaction, the equations should have the same number of electrons

What's the difference between an ionic equation and a half-equation?

ionic equation will not have e- any where present as a reactant or product...

half equations will, and half eqn ALWAYS exist in pairs (reduction half + oxidation half)
