Do you mean to say Australia was not a target for terrorists until we invaded Iraq? Clearly the Indo extremists already hated us because of East Timor.
Not only Australia, but the rest of the world. The indo extremists may have already hated us, but until americas intervention didnt lead to anything.

Because they are been forced to by the americans - what choice do they have?
They WEREN'T forced, though. No one forced them to vote

again, many of those involved in the violence in Iraq are Sunnis and Baathists, those that had the most power under Saddam and now, no longer in the majority, are not terribly happy.

No, I'm forgetting the fact that we have freedom, democracy, equality for women and not-sharia-law. That pisses them off way, way more than Afghanistan did.

you still. it doesn't matter that there were additional bombings after, just that the bombings were going on before Iraq

yeah, and that, in turn, followed the massacre of thousands on 9/11 by an organisation that was based in afghanistan

we can play this game and go further and further back and its not going to go anywhere. there's been attack upon attack if we keep going back.
the issues is to then look more at the attitudes of the parties involved. and the fact taht there are some that have platforms directly based upon targeting civilians unassociated with particular organisations and killing them.

the organisation was based in afghanistan and one of the primary goals of americas invasion was to destroy this organisation, till now they have done jack shit except increase their power.
