I was just wondering how much of engineering (especially mechanical and aeronautical) is hands-on, and whether I will struggle if I'm not good at hands-on work. Also, does anyone know whether there are many employment opportunities in Australia for aeronautical engineers?

Thanks

You do pracs, but they're only to support the theory in lecutres.
You also usually have to do heaps of work experience as a pre-req to graduating.

Aeronautical engineers don't get a huge amount of emlpoyment opportunities, since really all you can work for is boeing, etc, which you need to be good at to get in. You also get some aero eng's working for car design companies for stuff like airflow, etc, but in all, the job opportunities are not HUGE, but not exactly completely non-existant.
