Which of the following will cause the greatest change in pH in a 100mL sample of 0.1mol/l HCl

a - adding 1g of CaCO3 powder
b - adding 10mL of 0.1mol/l NaOH
c - adding 100mL of 0.1mol/l HCl
d - diluting sample to 1000ml

Without doing any calculations, C results in no pH change and D causes a change of only 1.

Test the pH for A and B. I can't do it atm.

What about d since ur diluting it, the ph should increase i believe, but can't tell without calculation

the answer is B. A is the same moles of base being added as b, yet as it is a weak base, it will not cause as great a pH change.
