Each tray has volume: .5*.4*.1 = .002 m^3 and 50 grams per tray is rotten. So we would like to know how many trays there are in 1 cubic metre, which is: 1/.002=50. So the grocer perchased 50 trays of the fruit, which means he got 50*50=2500g of rotten fruit.
