Anyway, I'd say just think of some questions about topics you don't know much about. Like for me it would be a fasion question.

Right but if youre given a writing question that you know nothing about, like someone said fashion would be tough for them, just twist it to something you can talk about, while staying relatively on topic.
Like your penfriend wants to know what fashion is like in Aust at the moment or whatever.
Just respond like....
Well fashion doesnt interest me, its a waste of time and money
I dont have any money I need a job
I'd prefer to spend my money on... blablabla something that does interest you and then go into that.

Would that be acceptable?
