you got no chance....stop dreamingfreejk said:WHat would be the requirments to get into Harvard Law school for law students in Australia?
Pretty much what I was going to post. Also, http://www.llm-guide.com if you're planning on the masters.Frigid said:i dunno... but off the top of my head, probably the initiative to read their website and emailing them if further information is required?
i reckon you're wrong on both counts.risole91 said:High UAI + High SAT + Some Really Good References + Money, this would also get you in.
But American law can't be practiced here, so you'd have to marry an American. (lol)
yay someone said itFrigid said:i reckon you're wrong on both counts.
first, UAI and SAT are for undergraduate entry. Juris Doctor is a graduate degree.
second, you could probly work in a big US firm's Sydney office (eg Sidley Austin, Skaddens, Jones Day etc), where they provide US law advice in cross-border transactions.
my advice is, don't give advice if you don't know what you're talking about. and don't revive old threads just to throw in your two dirty cents.
Oh wow, i wasn't aware of those law firms, that actually really interesting.Frigid said:i reckon you're wrong on both counts.

i linked you to law firms, not institutes.risole91 said:Further reading, the American law institutes you linked me too are very interesting.
I assume all of there employees that practice law are American graduates?
Haha thanks champ, I always wanted to study law, But then someone told me US law couldn't be practiced here.Frigid said:i linked you to law firms, not institutes.
and, no, not necessarily. to give US advice, you have to be qualified to do so. there are more ways to qualify as a lawyer than do a LLB/JD. Jones Day in Sydney also provides local (ie Australian) advice.
but, for now, little one, put your Harvard dream aside and focus on your HSC.
Wow, You learn new thing every day.Demandred said:University of Sydney Law School has exchange programs with Harvard Law School.
