Has anyone done HSTY 2640 20th Century China Or know about John Wong?

I've enrolled in this course and the subject matter looks interesting, but I'm not getting the best impression of the lecturer from the emails he has sent us so far.

Does anyone know how he is as a lecturer?

I had Dr Wong for Hong Kong history and hes certainly an interesting lecturer to say the least. As you probably know, hes incredibly eccentric and likes to use puns, humour etc throughout his lectures. He often gets off-topic and rambles a fair bit but usually communicates the course material fairly well.

With this said, I found him a particularly hard marker (this was a common criticism throughout my tutorial) and he doesn't often make clear what he expects in essays and presentations.
