I dropped from Advanced Maths to Standard 2 at the start of year 12, i say it was worth it because I had alot of issues at home and couldn't keep up with the course. i was getting aroumd 50s-60s with an occasional 80

If u can't keep up with the content then i suggest dropping cuz a 90 in standard is way better than a 50 in advanced in terms of scaling as well as peace of mind

at the same time it depends what u need for uni cuz my course doesn't require it. Again u can do bridging courses to get the qualification.

thank you!! im planning to do languages in uni so maths isnt necessary. and i agree, id rather get a 90 in standard than a 50 in advanced, and it lets me focus on other subjects too rather than just putting all my time into maths. hopefully the school will let me drop down

I recommend getting solid data before dropping - Is this the first assignment? If so, Maybe stay and see how you go with it.
Otherwise, if you feel it is right, move across to standard, no problem.

I did the same thing beginning of year 11, and I think it definitely gave me more time for other subjects. If you get bored in standard, ask your teacher for extra work or have a read of the advanced textbook in your spare time; you can still learn the content without actually doing the subject. If your school has atomi or edrolo, ask if you could join it just for learning sake.

my friends told me i should wait until i get the results but this one exam has already caused me so much stress and i dont understand anything and the content will just keep on piling up so i think i might just drop asap, dont wanna be stressed anymore

bro the only reason why ppl think really hard before dropping adv maths is bc theyre worried they wont get a high enough atar doing standard maths (not that true btw you should see how std eng looks like instead) and also bc its a prerequisite for a uni course they want to do

neither of them apply to you so idk what youre waiting for. unless you really want to keep maths adv (seems like you dont) drop it asap. youre prob gonna like std more and also do better in it.

also im a bit biased but even tho im pretty good at maths i HATED adv maths and i am overjoyed to say i dont have to think abt it anymore bc i accelerated it and got it out of the way. i cannot imagine what it would be like if i was also really stressed abt it and bad at it so its not worth keeping imo

im not one of those people who cares about if their subjects are well scaling or not cuz if i do bad i do bad and its not like scaling is gonna save me, and i could definitely do well in standard since looking at some of its content it looks really easy (for me at least) and i just dont wanna be worrying about maths everyday, so thank you!!
