Yep, before December 2002 registration.
Maybe it should be:

"pre Dec, 2002 - no post requirement (this does not mean post counts of 0 will have Custom)"

"post-Dec 2002 requires 3000+ posts for Custom"

(Since I'm not a pre-Dec person, as with you, we'll be Mid to Post-Dec 2002)

Perhaps its how long individuals have been on the site - 6 months, 10 months whatever. So pretty soon those who registered in january will get custom, then a month later those in febuary and so on and so forth

Yep, you were registered in August 2002 (which makes sense)

It's a dual-system, time-based (starting from the date of registration) and post-based (determined by the post count)

I don't think there's an 800 minimum on pre-dec 2002 members, though I think that there IS a minimum amount. Of course, we could just wait for Laz to turn up, spill the beans and close this awfully repetitive thread.
