Couldn't find a thread here, and since it is a real boredom filler (not to mention addictive IMO) if you have nothing to do I was wondering if anyone else here plays Hattrick? http://www.hattrick.org/
I like how it is simple to play yet to fully succeed there is a real added layer of complexity to it if you want to dig deep into the divisions. To anyone not knowing what Hattrick is, basically it is a online manager game where you own a soccer/football team...you trade, train etc you players until your team grows bigger and better. I find it really addictive, and it is fun to just log in when you have a bit of time between classes for example and maybe buy a player or two from the transfer list, or just visit the conferences and join in on some of the discussions. So if anyone plays it fell free to HT-mail and maybe we can play a friendly sometime or something (Username: graphix, Team name: The Samurai Metropolis). To anyone interested in signing up and checking Hattrick out, it is free. Just remember you have to sign up in your real area, so for most of us that would be in Oceania (you can choose whatever region/state though, just have to choose the correct country for your team to be placed in the correct league otherwise they will ban your team - thats just to basically avoid everyone joining the popular countries like Italy and England etc.)
Oh and the best thing is to enjoy it you don't need to like soccer, as long you enjoy strategy/management games where thinking and patience is required to reap the best benefits then you should like it.
EDIT: Just found a site similiar to Hattrick the other day called 'On The Ball' except you control a AFL team, it is still developing as it is only in its first season or so so it has a few bugs every now and then, but it looks pretty promising. In the same mould as Hattrick (completly different games though and HT is way better at this stage) it is free and you build up your AFL team through the divisions. Check it out if your a footy fan! http://www.ontheball.com.au/
