Looking through your local newspaper, and especially state newspaper, you will be able to find a lot of case studies. there has been one recently in the news about a young three year old boy who was murdered, and the man charged was charged with manslaughter by criminal negligence. this is a good case study to use in the exam, as it is recent.
you can find case studies anywhere :)

When looking at media articles just go through a mini-checklist (although it may not always be relevant, I always do something like this) in your head:

  • What are the issues? (e.g. drink driving)
  • Is this part of a pattern? (e.g. often occurs within a few km of a pub)
  • What does the law do here? (e.g. increased number of breathalyser tests near pubs)
  • Is the law effective? If not, why not?
