Have you tried calorie controlled? I.e find out how much calories your body needs to maintain its weight, then work off 500 calories through diet or excercise? The logic is there i havn't tried it coz im too cheap to buy the calorie books but apparently you can't go wrong coz the math is there. I'm trying it come holidays, it'll be good plus i want to be able to learn about the Glycemic (sp?) index and get to know the scientific side of getting fit.

you dont really need books do you? just read the nutrition info?

Nope - nutrition value might give a rough "energy value" but it won't tell you glycemic index, ie what type of foods give a quick energy rush (lollies) or more energy over a long period of time (eg pasta).

that database has like everything i think

lol high gi stuff don't give me a quick rush though. they make me fall asleep and wake up with a headache and more cravings lol my body gets such a baaddd reaction to junk food. so i avoid higher gi stuff as much as possible cuz my doctor told me to.... except when im craving or mindlessly pigging out, which is like alll the time, then its all gone lol.
i have swapped all choc with pb and have been getting fat from that... pb is power food (cuz it tastes good and doesn't make me sleepy lol)!

... power food? Is this 'healthy alternative' kind of stuff, or the food only bodybuilders/hardcore athletes are supposed to eat...? :S Gotta be careful around all those "diet" and "power" foods, sometimes they're more trouble than they're worth...

yehhh thats true.. cuz pb makes you fat... but then it doesnt make me want more when i eat it like choc does.. so i guess its kinda alternative food lol



orrr choc alternative ... low cal choc drink... cuz it lasts a whooole lot longer.. and jarrah choc o lait has like half the calories of a fun size twix

EDIT: How specific do people want to get? (before I post anything up) Will it be depressing/triggering for some if we post exact numbers (eg I am x kilos and want to loose y kilos), or do you think that numbers are ok but it's important to remember that we're not all the same and it's personal improvement (of any kind) that's important?

I don't mind sharing with the "group" that I am X kilos and want to lose y kilos" but i think i'de feel a bit :S:S if i posted it on BOS and everyone could see it, I'de tell the girls/boys in the group though PM just not on a thread I'de feel like everyone was looking at my nickers or something lol

How about... "I have this amount of kilos to lose to get to my ideal weight"

ooh i just had choc cravings (stupid pasta lol) ... and so i only had like a liiiitle bit of choc drink... and then i came back to my room and did weights instead haha yay... now work time! grr
