Hello fellow people,
I have finally finished the year of HSC hell and received my atar of both happiness and sadness :'(. I received an atar of 92.05 and with bonus points at UNSW it is a 96.05. The atar cut-off for round 2 December for UNSW Commerce was 97!! T ^ T :mad:If only they would allow bonus points for standard english, Eco or Business God dammit. Anyway, so do you guys think i have a chance to receive an offer in Janurary or Feburary, OR SHOULD I COME TO TERMS WITH REALITY AND GO CRY IN A HOLE jks jks Ahahaha ;D. Other options I've considered are UNSW informations systems, economics or UTS business?? Any suggestions?? What should I do?? Do you guys think Information systems is a prosperous course that will aid in my future career prospects?

Thanks Homies,

Ze Zhangsterali

Whilst the cutoff for 2017 was 96.30, the lowest ATAR to receive an offer was 88.4, and the median ATAR was 94.55, so, in my opinion you are in with a fair chance [emoji4]
Good luck!

To you question, I think you have a fair chance.

You can also start considering what majors you want to do for BCom and see if other programs/degrees offer the same or similar majors. For example, if you want to specialise in Finance, you can enrol in BEc and complete a major in finance (or financial economics).

would you say BEc would be a better choice that information systems? I'm just not so keen on the idea of BEc in general, as I feel like the degree is rather unsaught of. Also I'm scared I'll be stuck in economics if I'm unnable to transfer internally and I've heard that the math in economics year 2 is rather challenging.

Good chance - but don't get hung up on UNSW. Check out the satisfaction scores at QILT - UNSW and USYD scored below Wollongong, Newcastle, UWS and UTS. Once you have a job no one cares what Uni you went to.
