Hi I need help with the following questions:

1. What two purposes does a bleach serve when it is used in the laundry?
(I have only got that the bleach decolourises stains to a colourless substance via the oxidising action of the hypochlorite ion)

2. The formulation used in an automatic dishwasher usually has a pH of between 11 and 13. Explain breifly how these automatic dishwasher formulations are able to clean organic dishes.
